TOWN OF BISCOE
RESOLUTION ALLOWING THE CITIZENS OF THE TOWN OF BISCOE
TO VOTE ON THE EXISTENCE OF MIXED DRINKS WITHIN MUNICIPAL LIMITS
WHEREAS, it has been
determined by Lodestar Properties, Inc. that the sale of mixed drinks increases
a municipality’s ability to attract nationally accredited eating establishments
and;
WHEREAS, the Town of Biscoe
is a town dedicated to offering its citizens the opportunity to enjoy the
benefits of modern living and;
WHEREAS, the Town of Biscoe
Board of Commissioners seeks to serve the citizens of the Town of Biscoe in a
manner that represents the will of the majority and;
WHEREAS, the County of
Montgomery is dedicated to continuing its economic development efforts and
attracting the best businesses to this area and;
WHEREAS, the future of the
Town of Biscoe is determined by the town’s ability to continue offering its
citizens amenities and services that provide for healthy lifestyles;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT
RESOLVED, that the Town of Biscoe Board of Commissioners request that the
Montgomery County Board of Elections place the following ABC referendum on a
ballot no earlier than 12 March 2004 and no later than 1 May 2004 pursuant to
G.S. 18 B-602(h):
To permit the sale
of mixed beverages in hotels, restaurants, private
clubs, community
theatres, and convention centers.
