TOWN OF BISCOE
BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS MEETING
MAY 9, 2005
The regular meeting of the Town of Biscoe Board of Commissioners was held on May 9, 2005 at 7:30 pm in the Municipal Building.
Present were: Mayor Jimmy Blake, Commissioners John Beard, Jerry Smith, Michael Criscoe, Richard Kissell, and Town Manager Joshua Ray.
Mayor Pro-Tem Larry Preslar was in the hospital and not able to attend.
John Beard made the motion to accept the April 11, 2005 regular meeting minutes as written. Jerry Smith seconded and all voted in favor.
Rick Kissell made the motion to accept the bid from Kelly Kellam to purchase 1 acre of land on Sedberry Rd from the Town for $2500.00. This is contingent upon the fact that Mr. Kellam will pay all costs for water and sewer services. Michael Criscoe seconded, and all voted in favor.
Jerry Smith made the motion to refund the requested $3,478.84 to Central Concrete for taxes paid in 2001, 2002, and 2003 on property billed incorrectly. Michael Criscoe seconded, and all voted in favor.
The Town Board set a Budget Meeting for Monday, May 23, 2005 at 7:30 pm in the Municipal Building.
The Public Hearing for the Conditional Use Permit requested by Douglas Hoyt was called to order at 7:38pm. Andres Hernandez spoke on behalf of his father, Miguel Hernandez who lives at 405 South Main St, opposing the permit and requested Mr. Hoyt to consider another entrance to the property.
Mr. Gregg Shuping, owner and operator of the Biscoe BP Station located at 401 South Main St., spoke opposing the permit.
The Biscoe Board of Commissioners denied the request for the Conditional Use Permit.
The Public Hearing concluded at 7:45 pm.
There being no further business to bring before the Board, Commissioner Jerry Smith made the motion to adjourn the meeting. Rick Kissell seconded, and all voted in favor. Meeting adjourned at 7:55pm.
