BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
SPECIAL MEETING
MARCH 1, 2007
The Town of Biscoe Board of Commissioners called a Special Meeting for March 1, 2007 at 3:45 pm in the Municipal Building to discuss a Personnel matter.
Present were: Mayor Jimmy Blake, Commissioners John Beard, Jerry Smith, and Gene Anderson.
Mayor Blake called the meeting to order at 3:50 pm.
Jerry Smith made the motion to offer A. Brooks Lockhart the Town manager position. John Beard made the second, and all voted in favor.
Mr. Lockhart wasn’t present but by way of the telephone, did accept the position.
The starting yearly salary is $45,000. Mr. Lockhart is required to live inside the town limits within a year of his employment. He will begin the manager position on April 2, 2007.
Mayor Blake stated that the Town had received 14 applications for the manager position. After reviewing the 14 with Randy Billings of the Piedmont Triad Council of Government, 3 were given interviews. Mr. Lockhart had the experience and familiarity of the area (due to an internship with Troy) the board was looking for.
John Beard made the motion to adjourn. Gene Anderson made the second and all voted in favor. Meeting adjourned at 4:05 pm.
