TOWN OF BISCOE

BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING

JUNE 9,2008

The regular meeting of the Town of Biscoe Board of Commissioners was held on June 9, 2008 at 7:30pm in the Municipal Building.

Present were: Mayor Jimmy Blake, Mayor Pro-Tem Michael Criscoe, Commissioners John Beard, Gene Anderson, Jerry Smith, Jimmy Cagle, and Town Manager Brooks Lockhart.

Mayor Blake called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm.

John Beard made the motion to accept the minutes as written from the May 12, 2008 regular meeting. Jimmy Cagle made the second and all voted in favor.

Jerry Smith made the motion to approve the auditor’s contract submitted by Maxton McDowell CPA. Gene Anderson made the second and all voted in favor.

The Public Hearing for Repealing the Town Ordinance Section 110.01 SALE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES LIMITED ON SUNDAYS began at 7:38 pm. There being no opposition the Mayor called for a vote. Michael Criscoe made the motion to repeal the Town Ordinance and allow Sunday sales of Alcoholic Beverages after 12 noon. Jimmy Cagle made the second and all voted in favor. With the repeal passing it will become effective immediately. The Public Hearing closed at 7:41pm.

Jerry Smith made the motion to set the Public Hearing for the 2008-2009 Budget on June 26, 2008 at 7:30pm. John Beard made the second and all voted in favor. Any needed year end amendments will also be made at this time.

There being no further business to bring before the Board, Michael Criscoe made the motion to adjourn. Jerry Smith made the second and all voted in favor. Meeting adjourned at 7:48pm.
