BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS
JANUARY
14,2008
The regular meeting of the
Town of Biscoe Board of Commissioners was held on
January 14, 2008 at 7:30 pm n the Municipal Building.
Present were; Mayor Jimmy
Blake, Mayor ProTem Michael Criscoe, Commissioners John Beard, Jerry Smith, Gene
Anderson, Jimmy Cagle and Town Manager Brooks
Lockhart.
Mayor Blake called the
meeting to order at 7:30 pm.
Jimmy Cagle made the motion
to accept the minutes as written from the December 10, 2007 regular meeting as
written. Mike Criscoe made the second and all voted in
favor.
Maxton McDowell presented
the yearly financial audit to the Board. Mr. McDowell stated the Town was in
good financial shape.
Jerry Smith made the motion
to set the public hearing on both annexation request for the regular scheduled
meeting on February 11, 2008 at 7:30 pm. John Beard made the second and all
voted in favor.
Gene Anderson made the
motion to request NC DOT to close Odessa Drive. John Beard made the second
and all voted in favor. The Board then directed Town Manager Brooks Lockhart to
contact Kevin Hedrix with NCDOT
to get proceedings
started.
An update on the delayment
of the Lagoon closure was given to the Board by Town Manager Brooks
Lockhart.
During the Public Forum,
residents Grace Thomas, Sara Hamrick, and Corrina Ledbetter addressed the Board
with concerns about the high amount of traffic and loud music, and other
problems on Bruton
Street. The concerns were heard and will be
addressed.
There being no further
business to bring before the Board, Jerry Smith made the motion to adjourn.
Jimmy Cagle made the second and all voted in favor. Meeting adjourned at 8:26
pm.
